Foresters Stay Perfect After 4–3 Thriller Over Illinois College

The Lake Forest College men's soccer team remained unbeaten after pulling out a 4–3 win over Illinois College on Saturday afternoon at Farwell Field. The Foresters move to 11–0 overall and 2–0 in conference play with the victory.

Junior Ollie Francis opened the scoring in the 28th minute off a pass from Junior Nathan Kostovetsky to give the Foresters the early lead. Just four minutes later, Sophomore Gustavo Machado doubled the advantage, finishing a setup from Junior Sam Satisky as Lake Forest went into halftime up 2–0.

The Foresters stayed on the attack in the second half. Machado scored his second of the game in the 61st minute off a feed from Junior Peter Cirbo, and Freshman Rocky Rabago added another just two minutes later, assisted by Senior Gio Diaz, to make it 4–0.

Illinois College scored three times in the final 25 minutes, including a penalty kick, but the Foresters held firm to close out the win and keep their perfect record intact.

Machado led the way with two goals, while Francis and Rabago each added one. Kostovetsky, Satisky, Cirbo, and Diaz all tallied assists in the victory. Freshman Marcelli Okonski and Junior Andrew Swacha split time in goal, combining for two saves.

Lake Forest returns to action on October 7 when they travel to take on Lawrence University, followed by matchups with Beloit (Oct. 11) and Ripon (Oct. 15).
