Lake Forest College men's soccer player Alexis Flores was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week on Monday after helping lead his team to a pair of shutouts in the previous seven days.

Flores, a senior defender and team captain, helped limit Ripon College to four shot attempts and just one on target in a 1-0 victory on Tuesday. The Foresters also prevailed 2-0 at Cornell College on Saturday with Flores scoring his first career goal late in the contest. The Rams managed just eight shots and the Lake Forest goalkeeper needed to make just three saves to secure the shutout.

Flores played all 90 minutes in both games and has now done so eight times this season.

The victories extended the Foresters' season-opening winning streak to 15 games and they are the only team in the nation without a loss or tie this season.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors. Flores also earned the award once during his sophomore season.
