The Forester women's tennis team collected its fifth consecutive victory on Thursday, a 6-1 decision at the University of St. Francis.
Lake Forest began the contest by taking all three doubles matches, beginning with a 6-0 win by sophomore
Avelynn Wen and junior
Kate Feist at #2. Juniors
Anika Kinnear and
Mara Shere secured the doubles point with their 6-2 triumph at #3 and a 7-5 victory by sophomore
Lilli Dockal and freshman
Anya Mookencherry at the top of the lineup.
The top of the singles lineup was where the Fighting Saints earned their only point of the evening while the other five Foresters prevailed in convincing fashion. Senior
Olivia Pandazi took both sets 6-0 at #6 while Mookencherry (#2), Wen (#3), and Feist (#4) lost just one game apiece in their matches and Kinnear came out on top 6-2, 6-0 at #5.
The victory raised Lake Forest's record on the season to 6-1 while St. Francis fell to 0-2.
The Foresters will resume Midwest Conference play on Saturday when they host Ripon College at 9:00 in the morning and Lawrence University at 3:00 p.m.
