Football player Ethan Springer and golfer Gabrielle Krebs were named Forester Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.
Springer turned in one of the program's most efficient passing performances in the team's 59-0 victory over Beloit College on Saturday, completing 20 of 26 passes for 219 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
The sophomore's yardage total was a career high, his completion percentage of 76.9 percent was the 10th-highest mark in program history, and his 4-yard touchdown pass to freshman tight end Jordan James early in the second quarter was the first of his collegiate career.
Krebs earned First Team All-St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference accolades for the third time in her career at last week's SLIAC Championships. She placed third in the field and broke her own program record with a three-round score of 228 (+12). Only one player in the field of 50 players had more than her 38 pars over the course of the tournament.
It was the final event of the fall semester for the Foresters and Krebs currently owns a scoring average of 77.80, which is more than a shot per round better than the school record she set last year..
Krebs was also a Forester Athlete of the Week twice earlier this fall and has now earned the honor 10 times in her career.
