Cross Country runners Owen Lashenik and Lettia Hoda were named Forester Athletes of the Week on Tuesday for their performances at Saturday's Midwest Conference Championship Meet.

Lashenik moved up four places over the last three kilometers of the men's race to place 13th and earn All-MWC status. The sophomore's 8-kilometer time of 26:04.8 ranks 11th in program history and is the best of his career by nearly a minute.

By placing in the top 20, Lashenik became the first all-conference runner on Lake Forest's men's team since 2019. 

Hoda also moved up a couple of places in the latter portion of her race and finished 14th. Her 6-kilometer time of 22:26.9 broke the previous school record, which was set in 2017, by almost 12 seconds and was more than a minute faster than the junior's career best going into the meet.

The all-conference performance was the second for Hoda in her three years at the College.

Tuesday's Forester Athlete of the Week award was the second for Hoda, who also earned the honor during the 2024-25 indoor track and field season.
