Lake Forest College men's soccer player Christian Karabetsos was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week on Monday after helped lead his team to a pair of narrow road victories in league play.

Karabetsos and the rest of the Foresters prevailed 2-1 at Lawrence University on Tuesday and limited the Vikings to just five shots on goal in the contest.

Beloit College also managed just five shots on goal against Lake Forest on Saturday and Karabetsos scored the only goal of the day in the 65th minute. It was his second score of the season.

Karabetsos played all 90 minutes in both games and has now done so in 10 of the team's 13 matches this fall. The Foresters are 13-0 and ranked 11th in the nation by United Soccer Coaches.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors. Karabetsos also earned the award on September 2.
