The Lake Forest College men's soccer team continued its dominant start to the season with a 3–0 win over No. 17 Calvin University on Wednesday afternoon at Mohr Field. The Foresters improved to 10–0 overall and remain unbeaten through their first ten matches of the year.
Junior Peter Cirbo got things started early, finding the back of the net in the 6th minute off a pass from senior Christian Karabetsos. After taking a 1–0 lead into halftime, the Foresters added two more goals in the second half to pull away.
Sophomore Finn Gruver doubled the lead in the 61st minute, finishing a setup from Cirbo, before junior Nathan Kostovetsky sealed the victory in the 72nd minute with a strike assisted by senior Gio Diaz.
It was a dominant performance on both sides of the ball from the Foresters, who controlled possession and outworked the Knights throughout the match. Calvin managed a few looks on goal, but sophomore Kyle Demmon and freshman Conor Leuschke combined for seven saves to secure the team's seventh shutout of the season.
Lake Forest (10–0, 1–0 MWC) will return to Midwest Conference play on Friday, October 4, when they host Illinois College at 3:30 p.m. at Farwell Field.
