Four Foresters scored in double figures in a 75-66 victory at Knox College Tuesday night.
Junior wing
Alex Forowycz and senior guard
Alex Knight led the visitors with 20 points apiece while senior guard
Elijah Bull finished with 10. The team received a boost off the bench from junior forward Christian Rodriguez, who had 14 points and five rebounds in just 16 minutes of action.
Knight's three assists and three steals tied for team-high honors while sophomore wing
Coltrane Marchand led the squad with eight rebounds.
Lake Forest shot 43 percent from the field while Knox was at just 38 percent. The Foresters were out-rebounded 47-38 but forced 19 turnovers while committing 14.
The Prairie Fire jumped out to a 15-6 lead but the Foresters outscored the home team 21-1 over the next seven minutes to pull ahead by 11. The margin grew to 12 but was back down to eight (40-32) at halftime.
A three-pointer and another basket for the Prairie Fire to begin the second half made it a three-point game but they got no closer. Knox closed back to within five with 11:37 left but six straight points for the Foresters restored their double-digit advantage. The lead remained 10 or more for most of the remainder of the game.
After back-to-back Midwest Conference victories, Lake Forest is now 5-8 overall and 2-2 in league play this season. Knox, meanwhile, fell to 3-10 overall and remained winless in four MWC contests.
The Foresters will look to continue their winning streak against visiting Cornell College on Saturday with tip-off scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
