Foresters Roll at Saint John's

After surrendering the first goal of the game, the Lake Forest College men's hockey team came back and prevailed 4-1 at Saint John's University on Saturday.

Fifth-year defenseman Connor Scahill had a goal and assist in the contest. After the Johnnies took the lead at 3:39 in the second period, he set up the third goal of the year by freshman forward Johnathon Mead just 36 seconds later.

Junior forward Chase Freiermuth's first score of the season was the official game-winner and came at the 10:27 mark of the second period.

Scahill's second goal of the winter doubled the visitors' lead at 4:50 in the third period and senior Justin Ross filled the empty net with 48 seconds remaining for his sixth of the season.

Forester senior goaltender Kohl Reddy turned away 36 of the home team's 37 shots on goal, including the final 24 he faced, to earn the victory.

The victory raised Lake Forest's record to 5-6-1 while Saint John's fell to 5-6-0.

The Foresters will play their final non-conference contest of the year against Aurora University, the fifth-ranked team in the nation, on Tuesday. The game will be played at Lake Forest Academy and will begin at 3:00 p.m.
