The Lake Forest College track team began 2025 by competing in Carthage College's Firebird First on Saturday.

Sophomore Lettia Hoda turned in the first of two Forester victories on the day. Her time of 11:10.23 in the women's 3000m was a career best and edged out classmate Sophie Graham, who was the runner-up in 11:13.75. Freshman Eleanor Clark finished fourth in the race.

The other Lake Forest triumph came from freshman Farah Tawfik in the women's 400m, which she finished in 1:07.92. Fellow freshman Andrea Fernandez was third in the event with a time of 1:08.88.

Junior AJ Jones was third in the 200m in 28.52 seconds and Tawfik fourth with a time of 29.62. 

Senior Matthew Lungu was the top performer for the lake Forest men. He placed second in the 400m in 53.70 seconds and fourth in the 200m with a clocking of 24.02.

Fellow senior Bart Brophy added a fourth-place finish in the mile, which he completed in 4:30.68.

The Foresters will return to Kenosha, Wisconsin, in two weeks to compete in the Lake Michigan Open at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
