The Lake Forest College men's golf team placed 10th at the 22-team UW-Stout Fall Invite on Sunday and Monday.
After posting a round of 306 on Sunday, the Foresters came back with a 289 on Monday to climb a spot the standings. That matched the team's season-best score and the second-lowest mark in program history. Their two-day tally of 595 ranks seventh in team annals.
Sophomores
Tyler Schick and Tyler Wengronwitz led Lake Forest and tied for 14th place out of 124 players overall with 36-hole scores of 145. Schick was three shots over par during Sunday's round of 74 before carding four birdies and playing The Highlands at Grand Geneva Resort in even par on Monday. Wengronowitz had three birdies during his 73 on day one and three more to finish with a 72 in round two.
Seniors
Luke Duffer and Chris Petro were just one shot behind Wengronowitz on Monday after posting score of 79 and 80, respectively, on Sunday. They tied for 47th and 52nd in the tournament.
Aurora University was the team champion at 575, one stroke ahead of runner-up University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Lake Forest finished just one shot behind a pair of teams tied for eighth place and four away from two more in sixth.
It was the final event of the fall semester for the Foresters, whose scoring average of 298.75 has the team on pace for the program's best mark by four strokes per round.
