Ten members of the Lake Forest College men's golf team competed in the 36-hole Aurora Double Gun on Tuesday. Divided into two five-man squads, the Foresters placed tied-for-third and 12th in the 18-team event.
Sophomore
Tyler Wengronowitz was the top Forester and tied for 10th out of 92 players in the tournament with a two-round total of 151. His 2-over 74 on his first trip around the Aurora Country Club was the team's best round of the day and included three of his five birdies on the day.
Senior
Luke Duffer and junior
Ben Shamberg shared Lake Forest's best performance of the second round with a 3-over 75. Shamberg tied for 15th overall with a 153 while Duffer's 154 placed him in a tie for 17th.Â
Sophomore
Tyler Schick recorded an eagle on the par-5 16th and tied for 22nd at 155 while senior
Chris Petri rounded out the team's top group with a two-round total of 162.
Lake Forest's second group was led by freshman
Nate Choi and sophomore
Alexander Rohlf at 158 and 159, respectively. Back-to-back 79s made up Choi's total and Rohlf's 77 in round two was the team's top round of the day.
Freshman
Tyler Poker was next in the group at 164 and was followed by classmate
Brady Green at 170 and junior
Evan Dybas at 178.
Aurora's top team finished first in the tournament and the Spartans' score of 573 was 35 shots clear of runner-up Calvin University. Lake Forest and St. Norbert College tied for third at 613.
The Foresters will compete in the Carthage Fall Classic at Grand Geneva Resort (Lake Geneva, Wisconsin) on Monday and Tuesday.
