The Forester women's soccer team led early and came back late in a 2-2 tie at Carthage College on Saturday.
Sophomore
Lola Halsband's first goal of the season put the visitors on top less than five minutes into the contest. She was assisted by junior
Caitlin Mulcahy, who now has three helpers on the year.
The score remained 1-0 until the home team tied it in the 24th minute.
Both teams had a pair of corner kick opportunities in the first half and Lake Forest owned a 7-4 edge in shots after 45 minutes of play.
The Firebirds pulled ahead with 10:02 to play in the contest but their lead was extremely short-lived. Just 29 seconds later and long cross from the right sideline by freshman
Maggie Balas found junior
Anna Hoffman, who headed it in for her fourth score of the season.
Lake Forest out-shot the home team 7-4 after halftime but Carthage created five corner kick chances to the Foresters' two during that span.
Forester junior goalkeeper
Joanna Aslanides made one save in the first half and three in the second.
The tie left Lake Forest with a 3-2-2 record this fall while Carthage is 4-1-2.
The Foresters will be in action again on Monday when the team hosts St. Norbert College on Mohr Field at 4:30 p.m.
