The Forester women's tennis team recorded 7-0 victories at Ripon College Sunday morning and Lawrence University in the afternoon to remain undefeated on the young season.
Lake Forest won 181 of 212 games on the day, including all 36 involving fifth-year
Margaret Bugnacki. She took both of her #3 singles matches 6-0, 6-0 and teamed up with sophomore
Kate Feist on a pair of 6-0 wins at #2 doubles. Feist was also successful at #5 singles, winning 6-0, 6-1 at Ripon and 6-3, 6-1 at Lawrence.
Bugnacki is a perfect 10-0 in singles and doubles combined this season, as is sophomore
Sofia Strupovets at the top of both lineups. The doubles matches were played first in both Sunday contests and Strupovets did not drop a game until the second set in singles at Lawrence, which she won 6-4. Her doubles partner was freshman
Lilli Dockal, who prevailed 6-0, 6-1 in her first #2 singles match of the day before reversing those set scores in the second.
Sophomore
Anika Kinnear was also 4-0 on the day. She and senior
Emily Bross edged out the Red Hawks' #3 doubles team 7-6 (7-4) before rolling 6-1 at Lawrence. Also playing at #5 singles, Kinnear came out on top 6-2, 6-0 in the morning and 6-1, 6-3 in the afternoon.
Sophomore
Olivia Pandazi was Lake Forest's #6 singles player and she took both sets 6-2 at Ripon before a 6-0, 6-3 triumph at Lawrence.
Sunday's matches were the first against Midwest Conference opponents for the Foresters, who are 5-0 overall this fall. Ripon fell to 1-8 overall and 0-2 in the league while Lawrence is now even at 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the MWC.
Lake Forest will play its first home match of the year against Judson University next Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
