The Forester men's soccer team blanked Wisconsin Lutheran College 1-0 at home on Saturday for its first win of the season.
Sophomore
Peter Cirbo accounted for the only goal of the contest on a penalty kick at the 27:43 mark. A Warrior handball just inside the top of the box provided Cirbo a shot from the spot and he put it just inside the right post for what turned out to be the game-winner.
It was the first score of the season for Cirbo.
The Foresters possessed the ball for 64 percent of the game and out-shot their guests 13-3. Four of the home team's attempts were on target while Lake Forest sophomore goalkeeper
Andrew Swacha needed to make just one save to earn his seventh career shutout.
Lake Forest is now 1-4-0 on the season and all five games have been decided by a single goal. Wisconsin Lutheran fell to 3-2-0.
The Foresters will be in action again Sunday afternoon at Illinois Institute of Technology with kickoff scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
