Twenty-four hours after falling 2-1 at Hope College, the Forester men's soccer team was defeated by the same score at Calvin University Saturday night.
The Knights, who were ranked 11th nationally in the United Soccer Coaches 2024 Preseason Poll, scored both of their goals during a five-minute span in the middle of the first half.
After being out-shot 12-6 in the game's first 45 minutes, Lake Forest had a 5-2 advantage in that category in the second half and finished the game with five shots on goal to Calvin's three.
The visitors cut the deficit in half at the 80:56 mark when junior
Brett Klemes set up sophomore
Nathan Kostovetsky. It was the third career score for Kostovetsky and second assist for Klemes.
The Foresters will be on the road again in their next game, a 7:30 p.m. contest at Elmhurst University on Wednesday. The team's home opener will be next Saturday against Benedictine University.
