The Lake Forest College volleyball team is competing in the UW-Whitewater Invite over the weekend and was defeated 25-10, 25-14, 25-14 by the hosts Friday night.
Sophomore
Meghan Winston led the visitors with a career-high six kills while senior
Rebekkah De Kok matched that number with a team-high total in the digs category. Junior
Lilly Robinson tallied nine assists and freshman
Melania Mathieux served up a pair of aces in the contest.
Whitewater began the season ranked 10th in the nation in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Poll and jumped out to an 11-3 lead in the opening set. The Warhawks continued to pull away to take the first set, used an 8-1 run to close out the second, and rattled off nine consecutive points in the middle of the third.
The Foresters will continue play at the event by taking on fellow Midwest Conference member Knox College Saturday at noon and Augsburg University at 2:00 p.m.
