Forester Head Volleyball Coach Melanie Hughes earned her first career collegiate coaching victory on Saturday, a four-set triumph over Knox College at the UW-Whitewater Invite. Lake Forest also fell in three sets to Augsburg University later in the day.

Lilly Robinson finished the victory over Knox just one ace shy of the program record for a four-set match. She accounted for seven of the team's 16 aces and added 22 assists in the contest.

Ireland Van Stone led Lake Forest with 13 kills while senior
Rebekkah De Kok also reached double figures with 10. Sophomore
Lexi Pena finished with a team-high eight digs.
Lake Forest was nursing an 18-16 lead in the opening set before winning seven of the next eight points to take it 25-17. Robinson's first ace of the day finished it off. After Knox pulled away late and won set two 25-18, the Foresters dominated set three. They jumped out to a 9-2 lead and eventually used a seven-point run to make the score 20-5. Robinson's only kill of the contest closed it out at 25-9. The fourth set was tied 9-9 before a kill by De Kok sent Robinson to serve and three of her aces came during the 12-0 run. A kill by
Sadie Frye eventually finished off the 25-18 set and the match.
Van Stone led Lake Forest with 11 kills against Augsburg and was named to the all-tournament team. She also tied with senior
Juli Barrientos for the team lead with nine digs while Robinson tallied 19 assists and added two more aces to her total for the day.
The Foresters led the opening set by as many as five points but the Auggies came back and edged them out 25-23. Augsburg led set two from the start and won 9 of the last 11 points in the 25-14 decision. The first half of the final set as close but the Auggies took command with 5-0 and 6-0 runs and finished it off 25-17.
Lake Forest will take a 1-2 record into next weekend's Forester Invitational, during which the team will take on Carthage College Friday night at 6:00 and Augsburg College Saturday afternoon at 1:00.
