Playing at home for the final time prior to the upcoming renovations to the on-campus courts, the Lake Forest College men's tennis team routed Illinois College 8-1 and blanked Monmouth CollegeĀ 9-0 on Saturday.
Already the program's career leader in overall victories, Forester senior
Oleksyi Vyshyvanyuk won twice in both singles and doubles and moved into first place on both lists. His 75 career singles win surpassed John Adams (2010-13) and his 68th doubles triumph put him ahead of Joe Campagna (2007-10).

Daniel Tulchinskiy is Vyshyvanyuk's partner at #1 doubles and they became the first duo with 50 victories after blanking Monmouth's top tandem 8-0.
All three doubles teams prevailed 8-1 in the morning. Freshman
Bernardo Aguiar and sophomore
George Ciuca played at #3 while freshman
Felipe Vazsonyi and sophomore
Ian Villardi Venturini Barbosa teamed up at #3. Aguiar and CiucaĀ also swept Monmouth 8-0 and the Fighting Scots did not field a team at #3.
Vyshyvanyuk, Aguiar, and Ciuca dropped just three games apiece the entire day at #1, #2, and #4 singles, respectively, and Vaszonyi lost just one at #5. Tulchinskiy split his matches at #3 and Villardi Ventutini Barbosa took both sets 6-0 at #6 against Illinois College before collecting a forfeit against Monmouth.
Lake Forest improved to 13-6 overall and finished second in the Midwest Conference at 5-1 in league play. Illinois College fell to 9-11 overall and 2-4 in the MWC while Monmouth remained winless after a dozen matches this year.
The Foresters will face Cornell College in the semifinal of the MWC Team Tournament on Friday. It will be played at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin, and the same venue will host the MWC Individual Tournaments on Saturday and Sunday.
