Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Foresters Prevail at Saint Mary's with Historic Offensive Performance

The Lake Forest College women's lacrosse team tied its largest single-game scoring output in a 24-9 victory at Saint Mary's College on Saturday.

The program's scoring record was originally set in a 24-10 triumph at Brevard College on March 6, 2022. In addition to the mark for goals in a game, the Foresters' 14 assists and 38 points on Saturday are the most in team history.

Individual school records were also matched by a pair of Foresters. Already the author of the only two seven-goal performances in team history, junior Jenna Doctor scored twice in each of the first two quarters and three times in the third. She also added an assist for a career-high-tying eight points in the game. Senior Ryleigh Nelson set up seven of the team's tallies on Saturday and scored five times herself, matching the points and assists records she set on March 9.

Lake Forest sophomore Emma Sharp and freshman Alyssa Dyson scored three goals apiece at Saint Mary's. Sharp's hat trick was her third of the season while, in one game, Dyson matched her season goal total from before Saturday. Sophomore Daulath Khan finished with a career-high five points on two goals and three assists. Additional tallies came from senior Ali Graham, sophomore Isabel Bersie, and juniors Krissy Kuwahara and Abby Meyer.

Graham led the Foresters with three caused turnovers and tied Doctor for the team lead with five ground balls and Meyer with six draw controls.

Sophomore goalie Cecilia Adams reached double figures in saves with 11 and earned the victory.

The Belles actually scored the game's first goal but Lake Forest led 4-3 after the opening period. Nelson scored four goals and assisted on four others in the second quarter and the visitors were ahead 14-6 at the half. The lead increased to nine at 18-9 by the end of the third and the Foresters rattled off six unanswered scores in the fourth.

The victory was the Foresters' program record-tying sixth in a row and they are now 6-1 this season. Saint Mary's fell to 1-6.

Lake Forest will travel to Carthage College on Tuesday for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
