The Lake Forest College men's tennis team posted a 9-0 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff on Saturday.
The Foresters' first point of the evening came from freshman
Bernardo Aguiar and sophomore
George Ciuca, who defeated the Pointers' #2 doubles team 8-3. The visitors were doubled up 8-4 at the other two positions in the doubles lineup with Lake Forest senior
Oleksyi Vyshyvanyuk and junior
Daniel Tulchinskiy playing at #1 and freshman
Felipe Vazsonyi teaming up with junior
Kyle Lassen at #3.
Vazsonyi took both sets 6-1 at #5 singles and the clinching point came from Vyshyvanyuk's 6-2, 6-0 victory at #1. Ciuca prevailed 6-4, 6-2 at #4 and Lassen matched Vazsonyi's 6-1, 6-1 performance at #6. Aguiar won 6-3, 6-1 at #2 and Tulchinskiy closed out the match by taking both sets 6-2 at #4.
Lake Forest improved to 5-1 on the season while Stevens Point fell to 2-11.
The Foresters will play their next four matches during their Spring Break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina, March 11-15.
