The Lake Forest College men's tennis team began its Spring Break Trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina, with a 6-3 victory over LeTourneau University on Monday.
Forester freshman
Bernardo Aguiar and sophomore
George Ciuca defeated their counterparts at #3 doubles 8-3 but LeTourneau led 2-1 going into singles play.
The Yellowjackets also won at #2 singles but
Daniel Tulchinskiy taking both sets 6-1 at #3 and a 6-2, 3-6, (10-7) victory by Lake Forest senior
Oleksyi Vyshyvanyuk at #1 tied the score at 3-3. The Foresters swept the final three matches with Ciuca winning 6-2, 7-5 at #4, freshman
Felipe Vazsonyi rolling 6-0, 6-2 at #5, and junior
Kyle Lassen prevailing 6-1, 6-2 at #6.
Lake Forest improved to 6-1 on the season while LeTourneau fell to 3-3.
The Foresters will take on Shenandoah University Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. (ET).
