The Forester men's tennis team was defeated 7-2 by Shenandoah University on Tuesday during its Spring Break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina.
The match started well for the Foresters, as an 8-6 triumph by freshman
Bernardo Aguiar and sophomore at #2 doubles gave them a 2-1 lead going into singles play. Senior
Oleksyi Vyshyvanyuk and junior
Daniel Tulchinskiy had already finished off an 8-3 victory over the Hornets' top tandem.
Lake Forest and Shenandoah split the first two sets at four of the six positions in the singles lineup and the Hornets came out on top in all four third set super tiebreakers.
The loss snapped the Foresters three-match winning streak and dropped their record on the season to 6-2. Shenandoah improved to 4-3.
After taking Wednesday off from competition, Lake Forest will face The College of Wooster Thursday at 1:00 p.m. (ET)
