The Forester men's tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision to The College of Wooster on Thursday during its Spring Break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Lake Forest took two of the three doubles matches. Sophomore
Ian Villardi Venturini Barbosa and freshman
Felipe Vazsonyi prevailed 8-5 at #3 and were the first to finish. Senior
Oleksyi Vyshyvanyuk and
Daniel Tulchinskiy added an 8-3 triumph at the top of the lineup and the Fighting Scots earned the point at #2 in tiebreaker fashion.
Wooster also swept the top half of the singles lineup to take a 4-2 lead and then added a super tiebreaker victory at #4 to clinch the match. The final two singles matches also needed a third set super tiebreaker to decide with Vazsonyi coming out on top at #5 and junior
Kyle Lassen at #6.
The Foresters are now 6-3 and Wooster 5-4 this season.
Lake Forest will close out the trip by taking on Gettysburg College Friday afternoon at 1:00 (ET).
