The Lake Forest College women's basketball team was defeated 71-41 at Lawrence University Tuesday night.
The Forester offense struggled throughout the game and the visitors connected on just 26.7 percent of their field goal attempts. The Vikings were significantly better at 43.3 percent and they also had a 44-26 edge in rebounds.
Senior guard
Melissa Gomez led Lake Forest with 11 points while junior guard
Rebecca Christodoulou added nine. Junior forward
Emmy Punches grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
Lawrence led 18-10 at the end of the first quarter and 42-23 at halftime. The margin grew to 24 by the end of the third quarter and reached 30 just before the game ended.
The loss marked the end of the Foresters' four-game winning streak and dropped their overall record to 6-16 and Midwest Conference mark to 4-9. The Vikings improved to 13-10 overall and evened their league mark at 7-7.
Lake Forest will travel to Illijnois College on Saturday to take on the Lady Blues at 3:00 p.m.
