The Lake Forest College men's basketball team was defeated 72-58 at RIpon College on Wednesday.

The Foresters led by as many as seven points early in the contest and took a 27-25 edge into the locker room at halftime. After both teams shot 10-for-30 from the field and 3-for-10 from three-point range in the first half, Ripon connected on six of seven long range attempts and 10 of 13 shots overall during a decisive 24-2 run early in the second.

After falling behind by 21, Lake Forest closed to within a dozen points late in the game but got no closer.

Junior guard Alex Knight led the Foresters with 21 points while freshman wing Coltrane Marchand added 12. Both players also recorded a team-high four steals.

A 10-point, 10-rebound performance by junior forward Michael Michaud gave him eight double-doubles on the season, the second-highest total in the Midwest Conference.

Lake Forest is now 8-16 overall and 6-9 in the MWC this season. Ripon improved to 10-14 overall and 8-7 in the league.

The Foresters will close out the season against Beloit College Saturday afternoon at 1:00.
