The Forester women's basketball team trailed by as many as 21 points but came back to defeat Albion College 58-56 at Trine University's Cameron Hospital Classic on Saturday.
Albion led 30-9 with a minute-and-a-half remaining in the second quarter. A three-pointer by Lake Forest freshman guardÂ
Ariana Ferreira-Torralba ended the Britons' 17-3 run and closed out the first half scoring.
The Foresters trimmed the deficit to single digits midway through the third quarter and trailed by just six at 41-35 when the period ended. Ferreira-Torralba hit another three-pointer to begin the fourth and baskets by senior forward

Rebecca Christodoulou followed to give Lake Forest its first lead since the score was 4-3. There were four more lead changes in the next two minutes, the last on Ferreira-Torralba's third three-pointer of the afternoon that put the Foresters on top 49-47. She added a layup on the next possession and, after Albion cut the lead to two combined with Christodoulou to shoot 5-for-6 from the foul line in the final 30 seconds to clinch the victory.
Christodoulou led Lake Forest with 19 points and 10 rebounds for her second career double-double. Nine of Ferreira-Torralba's 14 points came in the final five minutes of the game and Punches also reached double figures with 13 points to go along with eight rebounds and a pair of steals.
The Foresters shot 51.6 percent from the field after halftime and 37.7 percent for the game. They also limited Albion to 33.8 percent shooting in the contest and outscored the Britons 15-9 on three-pointers and 13-5 from the free throw line. Lake Forest had a slight 43-42 edge in rebounds but committed 20 turnovers while forcing just 13.
Lake Forest is now 1-3 and Albion 1-1 on the year.
The Foresters will travel to Marian University on Wednesday for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
