The Forester volleyball team was defeated 25-18, 25-19, 25-21 at Dominican in non-conference action Tuesday night.

Ireland Van Stone led Lake Forest with nine kills and narrowly missed reaching double figures in digs as well with nine. Senior Julie Barrientos paced all players in the match in the latter category with 18 while Forester freshman
Melania Mathieux added 11 to go with her 22 assists.
A 6-1 run by the Stars gave them an opening set lead of 18-10 and the Foresters got no closer than four the rest of the way.
The home team won seven straight points to take a seemingly safe 21-12 lead in set two but Lake Forest came roaring back with six in a row to make the score 21-18. Dominican took four of the next five and the set.
The Foresters led by as many as five points at 13-8 in the third set but 10 of the next 12 went to the Stars. Lake Forest closed back to within a point at 20-19 before dropping four in a row. The Stars' first two attempts at match point were unsuccessful but the third finished off the contest.
Lake Forest fell to 3-14 overall while Dominican improved to 7-8.
The Foresters will look for their third Midwest Conference victory in four tries Friday night when they host Beloit College at 7:00.
