The Forester volleyball team began celebrating Homecoming Weekend with a 25-14, 25-17, 25-18 victory over Knox College Friday night.
The Foresters trailed by no more than one point at any time in the match. A 12-3 run in the opening set gave them a 16-8 lead and they continued to pull away to take it by 11. The run started a little later in the second set when taking 14 of 19 points made the score 21-14. Lake Forest won the first five points of set three but led by just three later on at 14-11. The Prairie Fire got no closer and the home team closed out the contest.
Senior

Ireland Van Stone led Lake Forest with 10 kills apiece and the latter's season-high 10 digs gave her a double-double for the first time as a Forester. De Kok also shared the team lead in blocks as she and fellow senior
Riley Stapley each finished with three.
Forester freshman setter
Melania Mathieux matched Van Stone's team-high dig total and also led the squad with 22 assists and four aces.
