The Lake Forest College women's soccer team shut out visiting North Park University 1-0 on Mohr Field on Wednesday.
The Foresters out-shot the Vikings 18-4 in the contest and put seven of those attempts on target while needing just two saves from junior goalkeeper
Joanna Aslanides to keep the visitors off the scoreboard. It was the second shutout of the season for Aslanides and the seventh in 13 games for the team.
The only goal of the contest came from junior forward
Anna Gracia at the 19:58 mark. Classmate
Caitlin Mulcahy stepped in front of a North Park pass, gained control of the ball, and played it ahead into the left side of the box. Gracia outraced her defender to the ball and fired a shot around the goalkeeper and into the right side of the goal. Gracia has scored all three of the Foresters' goals in the last two games and has five tallies on the season.
Lake Forest improved to 8-2-3 on the season while North Park fell to 5-7-1.
The Foresters will resume Midwest Conference play and celebrate Parents Day against visiting Monmouth College on Saturday with kickoff scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
