The Lake Forest College track team competed in the Lake Michigan Open at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday.
For the second consecutive week, Forester freshman
Payton Ross posted a victory in the 55m hurdles. His prelim time of 8.29 seconds was the best in a field of 10 and he was even faster in the final, finishing in 8.27.
Junior
Matthew Lungu added to Lake Forest's point total in a pair of individual events. His time of 53.16 seconds in the 400m was good for fourth place and nearly a second fasted than the previous program record he set a week ago. Lungu also finished fifth in the 200m in 23.86 seconds.
Sophomore
Mason Wright also competed in the 200m, placing ninth in 24.43 seconds. He finished one spot higher in the 55m with a time of 6.87 seconds.
Lake Forest also scored in the long jump, where freshman
Jake Bianchi was fourth with a leap of 6.26m (20'6.5").Â
While junior
Bart Brophy did not place in the mile, he now ranks fourth in program history in that event at 4:35.17.
The were also updates made to the program's top-five lists on the women's side. Sophomore
AJ Jones is now fourth in the 400m with her clocking of 1:05.42 and freshman
Lettia Hoda occupies the same spot in the mile after finishing in 5:34.13.
Junior
Delfina Jorgensen posted the team's highest placing when she was third (2:46.45) and sophomore
Julie Dorner fifth (2:56.93) in the 800m. Sophomore
Jacquelyn Han finished seventh in the 55m hurdles in 9.90 seconds.
The Foresters will travel to Olivet Nazarene University for the ONU Invite on Friday with the competition beginning at 4:00 p.m.
