The Forester men's hockey team was defeated 6-2 Friday night at Adrian College, the fourth-ranked team in the nation.
Adrian scored the only goal of the opening period and the first two of the second.Â
Eight seconds after falling behind 3-0, Lake Forest responded with junior forward
Griffen Sanom's eighth goal of the season. It was set up by junior defenseman
Matteas Derraugh, who also assisted on the first score of the year by junior forward
Tyler Buonopane at the 13:08 mark.
Connor Tartaglione, another junior forward, was also credited with an assist at the Foresters closed to within a goal.
The visitors got not closer, however. The Bulldogs struck again with 29.6 seconds on the second period clock and then added a pair of tallies just 32 seconds apart late in the third.
The home team finished with a 45-29 advantage in shots on the night.
Lake Forest dell to 6-12-0 overall and 3-8-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association contests while Adrian improved to 13-4-1 overall and 10-1-0 in the league.
The same two teams will face off again at Adrian Saturday afternoon at 4:00 (ET).
