The Forester men's basketball team traveled to Beloit College on Wednesday and was defeated 87-66.
A decisive 15-2 run in the first half propelled the Buccaneers to the victory. Lake Forest got no closer than 11 the rest of the way and the margin grew to as many as 29 points in the second half.
Junior guard
Alex Knight led all players in the game with 26 points. He shot 12-for-15 from the field and added a team-high four assists.
Freshman wing
Coltrane Marchand was next on the squad with nine points and grabbed seven rebounds. Sophomore guard
Alex Brown finished with seven points and four steals in less than 10 minutes of play.
Lake Forest shot 44.4 percent from the field while the home team was at 52.9. The Bucs also outscored their guests 33-21 on three-pointers and had a 40-30 edge on the boards.
The Foresters fell to 3-14 overall and 1-7 in Midwest Conference play this season. Beloit is now 11-6 overall and 5-4 in the league.
The next contest on Lake Forest's schedule is another away game at Knox College Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
