The Lake Forest College men's basketball team traveled to Knox College on Saturday and came away with a 73-62 victory.
The Foresters took the lead for good on a basket by junior forward
Michael Michaud less than two-and-a-half minutes into the contest. An 18-4 run later in the half made it a 16-point game and the period ended with the visitors ahead 31-22.
Knox pulled to within five points early in the second half but got no closer.A 12-4 run restored the Foresters' 16-point advantage and the margin grew to 18 late in the contest.
Junior guard
Alex Knight led Lake Forest with 19 points and 11 rebounds for his second career double-double. He also shared team-high honors in assists with five, joining fellow junior guard
Elijah Bull, who added seven points, three steals, and a career-high nine rebounds.
Forester sophomore wing
Alex Forowycz connected three times from beyond the arc and finished with 17 points while Michaud chipped in with 12 and senior guard
Zach Foster a season-high 11.
Lake Forest shot 45.8 percent from the field while limiting the Prairie Fire to just 38.3. The Foresters also had a slight 40-39 edge in rebounds and forced 16 turnovers while committing just 13.
The victory raised the Foresters' overall record to 4-14 and Midwest Conference mark to 2-7. Knox fell to 12-6 overall and 5-3 in the league.
Lake Forest will return to the same part of Illinois on Tuesday for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off at Monmouth College.
