The Lake Forest College men's soccer team was unable to hold off a second-half surge by Colorado College in their 4-1 loss on Sunday. Despite being tied 1-1 going into the second half, the Foresters were unable to secure the win and allowed three goals in the last 45 minutes of play.
The Tigers took an early lead in the game with a goal in the 11th minute of play, but the Foresters evened the score with a little more than 12 minutes left in the first half. Freshman
Gustavo Machado put up the first Forester goal of the season with some fancy footwork and an easy shot high and center in the net.
Colorado College netted two goals within two minutes of each other midway through the second half, and then sealed their win with a fourth goal in the last 10 minutes of the game.
Lake Forest were out-shot by the Tigers 21-6.
The Foresters play their home opener on Wednesday, September 6 at 4:30 p.m. against Wheaton College; the game will be played on Mohr Field.
