In the first game with conference opponents, the Lake Forest women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against rivals Grinnell College on Saturday.
Despite dominating the first half, the Foresters were left scoreless. They had an unfortunate own-goal with some confusion at the net, which was the Pioneers only goal.
Sophomore Izzzy DeStefano put up the sole Forester goal in the 69th minute of the game. As the Foresters offense pressed down the field, the Grinnell goalkeeper game far out of the net. DeStefano sailed passed the keeper, had a clear open shot, and scored easily. It was her fourth of the season.Â
The Foresters out-shot in the Pioneers 8-5 and had five shots on goal. Junior goalkeeper
Franca Finch made two saves on the day.
Lake Forest is now 2-3-4 on the season now and will play next at Ripon College on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
