The Forester men's tennis team defeated Milwaukee School of Engineering 7-2 Sunday afternoon.

Rain earlier in the day forced the match to be played indoors at the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff, where Lake Forest took the early lead by sweeping the three doubles matches. Sophomore George Ciuca and freshman Bernardo Aguilar were the first to finish, defeating the Raiders' #2 team 8-2. Sophomore Ian VIllardi Venturini Barbosa teamed up with freshman Felipe Vazsonyi on an 8-5 triumph at #3 and the Foresters' top tandem of senior Oleksyi Vyshyvanyuk and junior Daniel Tulchinskiy edged out their opponents 8-6.

Vyshyvanyuk rolled 6-0, 6-2 at the top of the singles lineup and Lake Forest's victory was secured when Ciuca finished off his 6-1, 6-2 win at #3. After MSOE earned the next two team points, VIllardi Venturini Barbosa came out on top 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 at #5 and sophomore Kyle Lassen came from behind to prevail 4-6, 6-2, (10-6) at #6.

It was the first dual match of the year for both teams.

After a weekend off, the Foresters will begin play at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Tournament in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on Friday, September 29.
