The Forester women's tennis team swept visiting Ripon College and Lawrence University 9-0 on Saturday.
The home team was dominant in both matches and was led by senior
Margaret Bugnacki, who won 40 of 41 games on the day. She and freshman
Sofia Strupovets won both of their #1 doubles matches 8-0 and the only game she dropped at #2 singles was in the second set against Lawrence. Strupovets blanked the Red Hawks' top player 6-0, 6-0 amd prevailed 6-3, 6-1 in the afternoon.
Freshman
Kristen Ahn and junior Sarah Lopez were also successful in the middle of the lineup. They defeated Ripon's #2 doubles team 8-2 and Lawrence's 8-3. Like Bugnacki at the spot above her in the lineup, Ahn won 20 of 21 games in singles while Lopez posted 6-1, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-0 victories at #4.

Kate Feist and sophomore
Rebecca Daskal rolled 8-0 against Ripon and 8-3 over Lawrence. Feist did not drop a game to the Red Hawks at #5 singles and added a 6-0, 6-1 triumph against the Vikings. Daskal won 6-0, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-1 at #6.
The victories improved the Foresters' overall record to 7-2 and Midwest Conference mark to 3-1. Saturday's matches were the MWC openers for Ripon and Lawrence.
Lake Forest will travel to St. Louis next weekend for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Tournament.
