The Lake Forest College track team traveled just past the state line to compete in Carthage College's Forever Red Alumni Classic on Saturday.
Foresters posted runner-up finishes in three events, including the men's and women's 800 meter run.
Becca Ray began her senior season by posting a career-best time of 2:39.39 while junior
Bart Brophy finished the men's race in 2:03.11 to slightly improve his standing as the second-fastest Forester to ever run the event indoors.
Freshman
Payton Ross was also second in the 55m hurdles with a time of 8.43 seconds.
Sophomore
AJ Jones scored points in two events, placing third in the 200m in 28.62 seconds and fifth in the 55m with a time of 7.65 seconds. Senior
Annie Pulaski was the next runner to cross the line in the 55m with a clocking of 8.12 seconds. Junior
Delfina Jorgensen's 5:53.78 was good for third place in the mile, an event won by Forester assistant coach Jill Wilkerson. Sophomore
Jacquelyn Han was sixth in the 55m hurdles in 10.25 seconds.
On the men's side, freshman
Ollie Francis was edged out by Brophy in the 800m, finishing third in 2:03.39, which places him fourth in team annals. Sophomore
Ido Zimbelman was fourth in the 400m (57.61), freshman
Patrick Cadiz fifth in the mile (4:55.21), and sophomore
Mason Wright sixth in the 200m (23.95). Wright now ranks second in program history in that event.
Saturday's meet was the only competition of the fall semester for the Foresters, who will return to Carthage to resume their season at the Firebird First on Saturday, January 13.
