The Lake Forest College men's hockey team led 2-0 after the opening period but eventually fell 3-2 at St. Norbert College on Saturday.

Junior forward Griffen Sanom's second score of the weekend gave the visitors the early lead eight minutes into the contest. Senior forward Shane Hathaway assisted on the goal.

The lead doubled at the 13:44 mark on the first score ot the season for sophomore forward Chase Freiermuth, who was all alone in front of the net when he received a pass from sophomore forward Logan Kittleson behind the goal. Sanom was also credited with an assist on the play.

The Foresters led 2-0 going into the second period despite being outshot 15-8 during the game's first 20 minutes.

St. Norbert had a 13-7 advantage in shots in the second and accounted for the only goal of the period with 1:39 remaining.

Lake Forest put 11 shots on goal to the Green Knight's 10 in the final period but the home team tied the score at the 6:33 mark and then netted whan proved to be the game-winner four-and-a-half minutes later.

The loss evened the Foresters' overall record at 2-2 and they fell to 0-2-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play. St. Norbert improved to 3-2-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the league.

Lake Forest will host the University of Wisconsin-Stout next weekend with Friday night's game beginning at 7:00 and Saturday afternoon's at 3:30.
