The Lake Forest College men's basketball team fell 75-62 to Monmouth College at home Tuesday night.
The Foresters shot 50 percent from the field and 6-for-10 from three-point range in the first half. They closed out the period on an 11-0 run and led 40-35 at the break.
The home team's shots did not fall in the final 20 minutes, however, and 58.6 percent shooting by the Fighting Scots during that span led them to victory.Â
Sophomore forward
Noah Deitch led Lake Forest with 17 points on the evening. He shot 3-for-4 from beyond the arc and 6-for-7 overall. Junior guard
Alex Knight was next on the squad with 15 points while senior guard
Zach Foster chipped in with nine on a trio of three-pointers. Knight led the Foresters with eight rebounds and junior guard
Elijah Bull had four assists and four steals.
Lake Forest is now 2-5 overall this season and 0-2 in Midwest Conference play. It was the first league game of 2023-24 for Monmouth, which evened its overall record at 3-3.
The Foresters will host Cornell College Saturday afternoon at 1:00.
