The Forester men's basketball team was defeated 86-65 at Wheaton College Tuesday night.
Junior guard
Alex Knight led the visitors with 17 points while freshman wing
Coltrane Marchand added 10. Marchand and junior forward
Michael Michaud shared the team lead with eight rebounds apiece and sophomore guard
Alex Brown dished out four assists.
The Foresters shot 33.8 percent from the field in the game and just 27.5 percent in the second half. Meanwhile, the Thunder connected on 52.4 percent of their field goal attempts and had a 48-36 advantage in rebounds. Lake Forest committed just four turnovers in the contest, the team's lowest total since February of 2020.
The Foresters led by as many as five points on several occasions in the first half. The score was tied at 31 before Wheaton closed out the period with an 11-2 run and took a 42-33 lead into fhe locker room at halftime. A 13-2 Thunder run early in the second have extended the margin to 17 points and the home team lead by at least 14 the rest of the way.
The loss dropped Lake Forest's record on the young season to 1-2 while Wheaton evened its mark at 1-1.
The Foresters will host the University of Chicago for Parents Day on Saturday with tip-off set for 2:00 p.m.
