Early Lead Disappears in Loss to Stout

The Forester men's hockey team scored the game's first two goals but the University of Wisconsin-Stout accounted for rest in a 6-2 decision on Saturday.

Senior forward Tyler Nielsen tied for the team lead with his third goal of the young season to five Lake Forest the lead 12:13 into the contest. The power play score was Nielsen's second of the year.

Forester junior defenseman Matteas Derraugh doubled the home team's lead with 2:40 to play in the period but a Blue Devil tally with just 13 seconds on the clock made it a one-goal game once again heading into the second.

Lake Forest out-shot the visitors 10-7 during the second stanza but Stout scored four times in the period. A final tally with 6:03 to play in the third accounted for the final score.

The loss dropped the Foresters' record this season to 2-4-0 while Stout improved to 3-1-1.
