The Forester men's soccer team was defeated 6-2 by Aurora University at home on Monday.
It was just a 1-0 game at halftime but the visitors added a pair of scores early in the second period to pull ahead by three.
Lake Forest got one back at the 63:23 mark. Freshman
Nathan Kostovetsky was fouled in the box while attempting to slip past the Spartan goalie. His penalty shot was saved but the rebound came back to him and he hit the wide open net for his first career goal.
The time between Kostovetsky's first and second goals was less than 12 minutes. After Aurora regained its three-goal lead, A throw-in from the left side of the field by senior
Elliot Hull reached Kostovetsky's head in the box and sailed over the keeper and into the ride side of the goal.
The Forester comeback effort ended there, however, as Aurora added a pair of goals in the final seven minutes.
Lake Forest is now 4-7-2 and Aurora 9-2-2 on the season.
The Foresters will resume Midwest Conference play Saturday at Monmouth College with kickoff scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
