The Lake Forest College women's tennis team hosted fellow Midwest Conference members Monmouth College and Illinois College on Homecoming Saturday and prevailed 9-0 in both matches.

Sofia Strupovets won the closest match of the day, edging out the #1 singles player from Monmouth 6-1, 4-6, (10-6). She did not drop a game in the afternoon against the best from Illinois College. Strupovets teamed up with senior
Margaret Bugnacki on an 8-3 victory at the top of the doubles lineup in the morning and they blanked their opponents 8-0 later in the day. Bugnacki prevailed 6-4, 6-1 at #2 singles against Monmouth and also did not lose a game against the Lady Blues.

Sara Lopez won both of their matches 8-2. Ahn's first #3 singles match of the day was an 6-1, 6-3 victory and she took both sets 6-1 in the afternoon. Lopez rolled 6-3, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-0.

Kate Feist partnered with sophomore
Rebecca Daskal at #3 doubles and the only two games they lost were against Illinois College. Feist also posted a 6-0, 6-2 victory against Monmouth's #5 singles player and added a 6-1, 6-3 win versus Illinois College. Daskal blanked her counterpart at the bottom of the lineup 6-0, 6-0 in the morning and finished off the day with a 6-4, 6-1 triumph at #6.
The Foresters improved to 9-2 overall this season and finished the MWC portion of the score at 5-1 in the league. They also secured the #2 seed in the MWC Team Tournament, which will be played in the spring.
Monmouth fell to 5-7 overall and Illinois College to 4-8. Both are 2-4 in conference play.
The Foresters will compete in the MWC Individual Tournaments at the NIelsen Tennis Center in Madison, Wisconsin, next Saturday and Sunday.
