The Lake Forest College volleyball team registered a season-high .340 hitting percentage in a 25-16, 25-19, 25-11 victory over visiting Lawrence University Tuesday night.
JuniorsÂ
Rebekkah De Kok and
Riley Stapley led the way, combining for 18 kills and just three errors in 27 attempts (.555). Seniors
Mary Gegen and
Grace Franz added nine kills apiece and combined for a .325 hitting percentage.
Sophomore setter
Lilly Robinson tallied 21 assists while junior
Juli Barrientos added 17. Robinson, who leads the Midwest Conference in aces, served up five more Tuesday night.
Defensively, the Foresters were led by junior
Lauren Volk's 15 digs. She also handled nine serves without a receiving error on the night.
The victory raised Lake Forest's overall record to 15-5 and the team is now 5-1 in league play. Lawrence fell to 4-20 overall and 1-4 in the MWC.
The Foresters will host two more conference matches this weekend, taking on Cornell College Friday night at 7:00 and Grinnell College at 1:00 the following afternoon.
