Down 1-0 at half, freshman Gustavo Muchado scored in the 84th minute to pull Lake Forest men's soccer even with their opponents from Illinois College on Saturday. Despite out-shooting the Blue Boys 10-5 in the last 45 minutes of play, the Foresters weren't able to connect with the net again and the game finished in a draw.
Muchado's goal came after a foul. Freshman
Ilhan Dervisevic took the free kick, it crossed the field to Muchado, who was able to get above the defenders and head it into the net.
There was plenty of passionate action on the pitch, and the Foresters made some great defensive plays to hold the Blue Boys at one goal. Early in the second half, Illinois College was denied a second goal when goalkeeper
Andrew Swacha made a diving save. Hull was standing right by him and was able to clear the ball away from the net to deny IC a chance to rebound it. Swacha finished with three saves while the Blue Boys' goalkeeper had nine.
Lake Forest travels to Cornell College next Saturday for the final regular season match. The game will begin at 1:30 p.m.
