Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Foresters Blank Beloit 2-0

The Lake Forest College men's soccer team hosted and defeated Beloit College 2-0 on Tuesday.

The Foresters had the better of the play throughout the contest, outshooting the Buccaneers 20-8 and possessing the ball for 66 percent of the contest.

The home team took the lead at the 24:20 mark on sophomore Karl Weisenfeld's third goal of the season. Freshman Nico Lomanto set up the score with a lofted pass over the Beloit defense and up the middle of the field. Weisenfeld outran a pair of defenders, settled the ball, and fired a shot into the top-left corner of the net.

The margin doubled in the 42nd minute on senior Elliot Hull's second of the season. Without leaving his feet, Hull headed freshman Ilhan Dervisevic's corner kick off the bottom of the crossbar and into the goal.

All five of Forester freshman goalkeeper Andrew Swacha's saves occurred in the final 25 minutes as he posted his third shutout in the last five games. He is now 3-3-2 on the season.

Lake Forest improved to 5-8-2 overall and 3-1-2 in Midwest Conference play. Beloit fell to 2-8-2 overall and 2-2-2 in the league.

The Foresters will host Illinois College for Senior Day on Saturday with kickoff scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
