Box Score Missing a pair of starters, the Lake Forest College volleyball team was defeated 25-10, 25-16, 25-20 at Concordia University Wisconsin Tuesday night.
Seniors Paige Jespersen and Brittany Avonts led the visitors with six kills apiece while freshman libero Anna Denslow recorded a team-high nine digs. Junior setter Lexi Kleva finished with 15 assists.
The Falcons used runs of four, five, and nine consecutive points to run away with the opening set. Lake Forest led 8-7 in the second set before the home team won seven points in a row. The margin remained at least five the rest of the set. A six-point run by Concordia in the third set turned a 11-8 Forester lead into three-point deficit. Four straight Falcon points later in the set extended the lead to six and all but clinched the match.
Lake Forest is now 4-8 on the season while Concordia Wisconsin improved to 9-3.
The Foresters will play at Illinois Institute of Technology Friday night at 7:30.
