Foresters Still Unbeaten after Tying Region's Fourth-Ranked Team

The Lake Forest College men's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with the University of Dubuque Tuesday evening. Darkness ended the game with 4:15 to play in overtime. Forester sophomore Jordan Hartman gave the home team the early lead just over nine minutes into the contest.

Hartman's second goal of the season was assisted by senior Chris Haught-Thompson and was the only score of the opening period.

Dubuque tied the game at the 60:40 mark.

Forester junior goalkeeper Giancarlo Colasanti made five saves in the contest. Surrendering one score actually raised his goals against average on the year to 0.82.

Lake Forest had the better of the play in the first half, attempting 10 shots to the Spartans' two. Dubuque turned the tables in the second half, out-shooting the Foresters 12-3. Both teams attempted one shot in overtime, giving the visitors a slight 15-14 edge for the game. Both squads had four corner kick opportunities. 

The Foresters were ranked ninth in the North Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America earlier in the day. Dubuque was listed fourth. Lake Forest is now 7-0-1 on the year and the Spartans 5-1-1.

The next game on the Foresters' schedule is their Midwest Conference opener against Illinois College on Saturday. The contest will begin at 3:30 p.m.
